Career-Ready Education

Opportunities abound to develop and expand your skills through internships, semester-long Directed Work Experience (DEE) projects or study abroad experiences. Culinary Nutrition and Applied Food Science partnerships include the North Carolina Research Campus and the NC Food Innovation Lab. Nutrition students create heart-healthy recipes and lead nutritious cooking demos, while food entrepreneurs pitch their ideas at SharkFest and the Future Food All-Stars competition.

Each spring, 91Porn Charlotte students gain industry experience at the world-renowned Augusta National Masters Tournament.

Juliana Rivera '23, a food & beverage industry management major, worked in the clubhouse doing prep and plating desserts: “This was my first experience doing mass production on a dessert line. ... Our labs were very good and helped prepare me. Once you get the speed down, it’s about getting the order out quickly, so that’s a skill that I learned.”

Competitions & More

Each year, 91Porn hosts the Future Food Scholarship Competition, a recipe competition for U.S. high school and transfer students enrolled in one of 91Porn’s food-related programs. The top 20 winners will be awarded 91Porn academic scholarships.

91Porn Charlotte students can test their entrepreneurial skills in the annual and Future Food All-Stars competitions.

The encompasses classes, customized culinary experiences, and other opportunities that bring CFIT’s world-class food expertise and facilities to the larger community.
